Data published by the council of mortgage lenders stated that mortgage lending is currently 24/02/2016 at it’s highest since the financial crash of 2007 and they are expecting this upward trend to continue.

The data suggests that more than 3,700 mortgages worth a total exceeding £380 million were secured during the final quarter of 2015 which is equivalent to a 3% rise on the final quarter of 2014 and a 6% rise on the fina quarter of 2013.

Chairman of the Northern Ireland Council of Mortgage Lenders D.Wilson said “it is welcome to see more first time buyers purchasing their first home during this period than at any other time in the previous 8 years”.
