Three steps. No waiting rooms. No branch visit required.

1

Get in touch

Call, message, or fill in the form. We confirm which AIB products you're eligible for and talk through your options in plain English.

2

We submit to AIB

We complete and submit the transfer forms through the AIB broker channel. Your chosen rate is reserved on the day we submit — no appointment needed on your end.

3

Offer letter & sign

AIB issue your formal mortgage offer within approximately one week. You sign and your new rate is secured. No branch visits, no waiting rooms.

This is ideal if you…

  • Are an existing AIB mortgage customer in Northern Ireland
  • Have a deal ending in the next 1–6 months
  • Don't want to wait weeks for a branch appointment
  • Want your rate locked in today before it moves

We'll also tell you if…

  • A full remortgage to another lender could save you more
  • It's too early to switch without an early repayment charge
  • Waiting a little longer makes financial sense

Ready to lock your rate?

Rates are moving. Every week you wait is unnecessary exposure. Takes less than 10 minutes.

AIB Product Transfer — Common Questions

Can I do an AIB product transfer online myself?

No — AIB do not currently offer a self-serve online product transfer option. To switch your rate directly with AIB you must book an appointment, which is currently 3+ weeks away. Using a broker like Mortgages NI means we submit through the broker channel on your behalf with no appointment required.

How quickly can you reserve my AIB rate?

We can reserve your rate on the same day you contact us. Once you get in touch we confirm your eligibility, discuss the available AIB products, and submit the transfer forms the same day. Your rate is locked from the moment we submit — protecting you from any further rate movements.

Is there a fee for using Mortgages NI for an AIB product transfer?

No — our service is completely free of charge. We do not charge a broker fee for product transfers. We are paid directly by the lender, so there is no cost to you at any stage of the process.

Do I need a new valuation or legal work for an AIB product transfer?

In most cases, no. An AIB product transfer is a rate switch with your existing lender, so there is typically no need for a new valuation, solicitor, or affordability reassessment. This is one of the key advantages of a product transfer over a full remortgage to a new lender.

When should I start the AIB product transfer process?

We recommend getting in touch 3–6 months before your current AIB deal ends. This gives you time to review your options without the pressure of your deal expiring, and means you can lock in a rate early if you see one you're happy with. Starting early also avoids falling onto AIB's standard variable rate, which is typically higher.

Should I do an AIB product transfer or remortgage to a new lender?

It depends on your circumstances. A product transfer with AIB is quicker and involves less admin, but other lenders may offer more competitive rates. We compare both options for you — if a full remortgage to a different lender saves you more money, we'll tell you. Our advice is always in your best interest, not the lender's.
